Our 90th Anniversary

May 1, 2019

Welcome to the 2019-20 wcfsymphony season, our 90th anniversary. Ninety years of the very best live orchestral music right here in the Cedar Valley - it is such an incredible honor to lead wcfsymphony into its tenth decade. And to celebrate we’ve put together a season to remember!

This year you will thrill to classic orchestral masterpieces like Rhapsody in Blue, Scheherazade, Brahms’ Fourth Symphony, and Mozart’s Gran Partita Serenade. Our concerts will also explore the achievements of women in music, from classical standouts like Fanny Mendelssohn to one of today’s most honored American composers, Joan Tower. The essential work of another remarkable woman, Jane Goodall, will shine through in our live big screen performance of the National Geographic documentary, JANE.

Of course no birthday celebration is complete without a big party and this year we‘ve got just the ticket. On New Year’s Eve, transport yourself to glorious Vienna with a celebratory evening of food, drink, and dancing to the music of wcfsymphony and Chris Merz’s band Hands Of Time.

The best part? All of these unforgettable experiences will be presented for you with passion and virtuosity by some of Iowa’s very best artists, your wcfsymphony musicians. Join us for this spectacular season for all of this and much more - truly a year to remember!

Musically yours,

Jason Weinberger
